Tips from the Trenches: Managing a School Library

A 20-year library veteran will share strategies for tackling the management side of a school librarian's responsibilities.  Most people become school librarians because they love books and enjoy teaching kids, but the job entails many "behind the scenes" tasks as well. School librarians are teachers, but they are also program administrators and managers. It's easy to get bogged down in all the different facets of the job battling for your attention, but being an effective library manager allows you to better serve your patrons.
